I forgot to say this but I think I'm going to extend the video contest to April 25th. So far we only have one entry and the next few days after to the 25th was meant for voting but with only one video there is really no voting. I decided to add in a few extra days instead and maybe another entry will be submitted.

It sucks that we have only one entry so far, so I've been thinking that maybe we should announce we're extending it till 15th or even 30th of May and then start advertising it way more aggressively, for example make a clickable banner at the top of the home page (next to the join button if we put one again), mention it on fb twice a day for the 1st couple of days till everyone gets to read about it (you know how when you log in you only see a few newest posts on your home page), tweet about it etc.? Also get in touch with person registered as Artemis on the website and ask her to spread the word about it. I just discovered this website http://www.xenaholic.com/, do you guys maybe already know the owner/s from TX? I think Artemis is one of them, or at least somehow related to the whole XMV story, and it would surely help a lot if they would include us in their already existing contest and mention us regarding the "Movie Trailer" category, something like "in order to apply for participating, go to xena10afterfin.com"

I also think we should change the 2nd requirement, because even though that one video entry we have does mention words "xena10afterfin", it doesn't really help us advertise the campaign - unlike if we would ask people to put something like: "you'd like the XWP movie idea to become a reality? Join the campaign at xena10afterfin.com"

Already been in contact with Artemis and registered on xenaholic. Frederick created a group on xenaholic for the cause too. I had posted the video contest on the group page in there as well. Artemis is the creator of xenaholic and is pretty much all over the xenaverse. I've met her before on the Spartacus boards before coming to XOC. I also don't want it to seem like we are trying to recruit members or projects for another site. I kinda feel like I gave Artemis that impression on xenaholic and I don't want it to feel that way if we are invited to another site. If we do any advertising it should be on our main site, twitter, clickable advertising, and facebook. If we are on another website we should stick to more simple things like what can fans do to help get a Xena movie. Much like doing google searches. Also xenaholic is going through a site change and is getting a new domain/site so Artemis probably has her hands full right now.

I'll extend the deadline a little further and put more stuff out there to get it known. This is a learning experience. It might be better to cut this one off and start a new one with what we learned. The next one should be about a new banner. We need one for the site and we need some for those clickable advertising adds so it would work out well. Then start another video contest going again and hopefully have all the kinks worked out. Or at least have a open asking topic about some banners.

Oh ok then, let me know if there's anything I can do to help... Hopefully the next contest we start will go way better than this one did.

What about that person who made us all of the banners we already have, are they still interested in helping out? I like the idea of having an open asking topic and letting people know they should feel free to contribute by making stuff that will help us advertise the website.

By the way I'm sorry I wasn't able to work on adding people at all yesterday and will send requests to only about 50 of them today but I'll do my best to make up for it during the weekend and hopefully by Monday we'll reach 1250+ friends on fb and 250+ of them on myspace (at the moment we have 123 of them)

Yeah, I'll close this one up on the 25th and wait maybe another two weeks before starting up another. Hopefully the next one will go better. Also I mentioned about the banners on the original topic in TX. Maybe the person who made the first banner's will step up again. I also like the idea of a open topic. I'll ask in the main forum too and see if there is any response.

I want to say i'm very happy about the work you're all doing! I'm sorry if I have been a bit on the background when it comes to facebook and myspace and the following-up of members, but the creation of a written report containing all evidence why a Xena movie is profitable takes a lot of time. Especially because I'm up against people who're trained to do such a job, and I must help myself with the knowledge others give me. Apart from the fact I have a daily job and living too. Busy days here

Perhaps we can find someone who's willing to translate or post a complementary message on the site / facebook, so we can reach out to more people?

That would be a good idea. We can post up a request for translators on facebook to see if we get any bits. Also if we put up a few translations on our main site should we just have it where we have the main text in English then post the translations under it. It would be nice if there was a option to have a button on the top of the page that lets someone choose the language. Once the language is selected it would show the main page/news page in that language. I've seen it in some sites but I'm not sure if its available in webs.

I love that idea, Serbian language is a lot similar to Croatian so that's the part of the translating I'd be able to do - I'm not sure is it better to post up a request for translators (and risk not getting replies) or to find people ourselves and message them asking if they would like to help us? I can start looking for them as soon as you guys let me know what you think about it.

Things could be going a LOT faster if it wasn't for that facebook warning which is stopping me from adding more than 10-30 friends in a row "Facebook's systems determined that you were going too fast when adding friends. + when you edit the members page, there is an option there to send a newsletter to all members.
I want to make one and use a banner for the newsletter too. So we should look to create those 2.

I can send it by giving them your email, but I think you'll just be notified that I sent the money and will have to open an account in order to receive it.
What I have to do is to open a bank account on my name in order to upload the money, the thing is some banks charge you for doing that while others don't so I'm trying to find one in which I can do it for free, hopefully I'll have success with that tomorrow.

About the website, I'm not sure what you mean when you say banner - is it one you could click on that could take you to the certain page of the website, like that one "want to become a member? click here"? If so, I think I learned how to make those:

Frederick, it turned out that no matter what way I'd choose to send you the money from Serbia, I would have to pay a provision of 7-10 euros. Considering the fact that I can't afford that, and even if I could I'd rather give those extra 7-10 euros to you than to a bank, I decided to take a risk of sending you a 10 euros bill in a letter. It will be a musical birthday card and I'll make a small paper pocket for the bill next to the mechanism that plays the music, hopefully that way the postal service won't notice it and you'll receive the card in a couple of days. All I need is your home address, I advise you to send it in a PM because of the forum visibility. It's very important that you send me your whole address, I mean not only your full name and the street and number you live in but also part of the town/region or however it's called, a correct zip code and anything else you know of I left out, for example if you have 2 streets that are called the same way or have a neighbour with a similar last name; you know what I mean, everything that will ensure that you get it - I hope if the address is 100% correct things should work out.

I've activated the Google adsense stuff on the site. You've probably noticed the ad's and a search bar. The thing is, we must have a lot of people searching that bar AND then clicking on a result. For the ad a click is enough. If you have enough people doing that during the day, we will get paid for it.

Don't expect a lot of money, but I hope we can buy some DVD's with that...

please notice that you CANNOT tell people they should click on the ads or search the custom google bar so we can earn money... If Google noticed that, we will get fined, and that' s not what I want

You cannot go around and click on the ads yourself every minute too, they'll notice.

So it's just our goal to get as many traffic we can during the day, without openly stimulating people to click on the ads...
